Torridon Trip 2012...

06th November 2012
I've been planning this trip in my head for some years now, and the opportunity arose when I found the cottage of my dreams on the side of Loch Torridon, yards from the waters edge and in full view of the grand mountains across the loch. One of Scotland's many fabulous places and a dream for any landscape photographer or artist.
The light flits down the hillsides and across the deep waters of the Lochs, sometimes clouds hang like flags from the very top of these mountains and sometimes clouds filled with snow obliterate everything as the snow tumbles from the sky and stills the waters and the birds as it envelopes you in a white silence.
In my weeks stay at Annat, I saw sunshine a plenty and a spot or two of rain and the crowning glory a blizzard, snow on my last full day before leaving for home.
The images in the gallery will tell the tale for me of my enjoyment and the highland welcome I had from my neighbours. The hand raised as you pass on the single track roads, a small courtesy you could never get in the cities. I'll be adding to this blog as the memories flow back and I'll add a few images as well as the Gallery:- Torridon Trip 2012.

I hope you enjoy my visit here too.

Photo comment By Eyolf Johnsen: Hi Douglas You have so many beautiful landscape photographs from Scotland. A fine scenery you show us from Loch Torridon. Visited this area briefly in 2007 and would like to come back. Keep on publishing your Scottish landscapes. regards Eyolf Johnsen NORWAY
Photo comment By John Martin: As I write this I note the "total views" counter is at 580116. No wonder; your images are well crafted and thoughtful. I'm a photographer and will be visiting Scotland for the month of May, 2013. Your images are inspirational.
