Skye Trip 2013...

12th April 2013
I've just returned from the Isle of Skye after a two week stay in a delightful cottage down by the harbour at Elgol, the jewel in the crown for many who visit Skye it seems.
Unlike so many other parts of Scotland and England the weather on Skye was lovely, sunny and dry but very cold, I was well prepared for that with my winter layers. Along with the sun came high pressure and a wind from the East, not a cloud in the sky until the crofters and estate workers started to burn the heather, an annual event which at times gets out of hand when it's been dry. Smoke billowed around the mountains and Glens, and off the mainland too, but a drive of a few miles usually finds some clear air to breath.
I've visited Skye every year since 2004 at least once each year and know the place quite well, but the light changes everywhere and a wait usually means a different feel to the scenery. I love reflections and the lochs on Skye seem to know that because the water goes flat at least once on my trips, this one no different as you'll see in the gallery of images which will expand as I process and post them.
Enjoy the trip around Skye as I did and savour the beauty of the West coast of Scotland, the best place on Earth.

My images from the trip are in the Gallery..
Skye Trip 2013 Enjoy.
